Antivirus and Firewall

The Internet can be a dangerous place if you're unprepared, and many RedSpider clients now have always-on, high-speed internet access, which means more potential threats.

Based upon past experiences, the following advice is offered to our clients about going online:

Virus Protection
Don't operate your computer without good antivirus protection. This page shows current virus threats (and solutions). Recommended packages include:

• AVG Antivirus (Free)
• Norton Symantec Antivirus
• McAfee Antivirus

Antivirus updates should be set to take place automatically; with the virus definitions updating at least once per week.

Firewall
Protect your computer from intrusion and from being hijacked by malicious programs. Online sources of risk include insecure networks, hackers and websites that attempt to steal information from your PC.

As part of an informed society you can help yourself stay secure and insert another layer of protection even before that provided by your ISP. A free, easy-to-use, top-rated firewall is:
